If we take it seriously, we fail to have a good time with it, and we’re always looking for some way to enjoy what we do. Language being the stuff of translation, translations deserve to be played with, or then we’re not having a good time. I try to translate for my own amusement as well as for some more noble purpose.

Si on la prend au sérieux, on ne s'amuse pas avec elle, et on cherche toujours un moyen de s'amuser. La langue étant la matière de la traduction, les traductions méritent qu'on s'y amuse, sinon on ne s'amuse pas. J'essaie de traduire pour mon propre amusement, mais aussi dans un but plus noble.
